Brittani Barger

Brittani Barger is from Tennessee, USA. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a master’s degree in sports leadership from Northeastern University. Passionate about learning, she is currently undertaking paralegal classes and works part-time in a local law firm. Additionally, she serves as the Deputy Editor of Royal Central – the world’s leading online source for the royal families of the world. She has worked for Royal Central since 2016, first beginning as a blogger before quickly moving up to Europe Correspondent and then Europe Editor. She has been a featured guest in several international publications, podcasts, radio shows, and newscasts. Currently undertaking online lessons in Swedish, Brittani’s native tongue is English. She also has a decent knowledge of Spanish.

Lorna Johnson

Panel 2. Tools, Technologies and Technique: How to Enhance Educational Experiences for Women

Honourable Lorna Mae Johnson, USA is a native of Jamaica and resides in Beverly Hills California. Lorna holds MS in Nursing/Midwifery and Finance and is the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Assistant Treasurer and Honorary Consul for Jamaica in Los Angeles and the Founder and CFO of the Advanced Family Care Medical Group Inc.

A serial entrepreneur and a blockchain enthusiast,  Lorna leads Veritaseum’s team (https//veritas.veritaseum.com/team) in political affairs, philanthropy and business development as well as being a real estate investor. Lorna is also the founder of Compassion for Teen Life a non-profit organization for women and girls and an Essayist for the UN Foundation Women and Girls. Lorna currently sponsors twenty girls for their high school education in Malawi.  

Johnson was recently acknowledged by Investing in Women as one of seven wonder women of the world. A past Lecturer/Clinical Professor at UCLA and past President of a local Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles. To add to her impressive credentials Lorna was also an appointee of President Obama to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and his National Health Care committee. Lorna really is a force to reckon with as she is also a former international track-and-field athlete who qualified for the Olympics in the 100m dash.

Chitpas Tant Kridakon

Panel 1: How to Achieve Gender Parity in Higher Education

Chitpas Tant Kridakon received her BA from King’s College in London and her MA in Political Science from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. She has extensive work experience in Thai politics and is currently serving as a member of the House of Representative, the Deputy Secretary General of the Democrat Party and the Committee and Assistant Secretary of the PDRC Foundation. Over the past decade her work experience has included Deputy Spokesperson of the Democrat Party, Specialist to the Committee on Economic Development of the House of Representatives, Secretary to the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Political Officer of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister, Secretary of the Standing Committee on Students, Youth, Women, the Elderly, and Handicapped, and the Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister. In addition to her extensive work in the public sector, Ms. Kridakon has worked in public relations, advertising, and publishing as well as NGO. Her ultimate goal as a politician is to be prime minister of Thailand.

Tessy de Nassau

Panel 1. How to Achieve Gender Parity in Higher Education 

Tessy de Nassau is a Social Entrepreneur, Business Woman, Philanthropist, UNAids Ambassador, Public Speaker, Activist, and Mother. Tessy is founder and partner of the Global consultancy ‘ ending Butterflies’. Some of her clients’ projects include the new global partnership with the Montessori St. Nicholas Group in the UK and Vodaphone global. Tessy is also the newly appointed associate at LSEideas at the London School of Economics.

Her commitments to education can also be seen in her Foundation, Professors Without Borders – that brings top-level educators and global experts to the doorsteps of students worldwide, in order to develop talent. Moreover, Tessy is an ambassador for UNAIDS (Global Advocate for Young Women and Adolescent Girls) and is the patron to UNA-UK. In the past, She spent five years in the Luxembourg military, during which she was deployed in Kosovo as a peacekeeper and only woman of her draft.

Tessy actively promotes a number of issues, including global health and women’s rights. She is passionate about pushing her different agendas to benefit the Sustainable Development Goals and has committed her time and energy to further the work of organisations in which she believes in. Moreover, she is actively committed to strengthening basic human rights for all and empowering young women and adolescent girls around the world. She received the Woman of the Decade award from the Women Economic Forum in January 2017, the Humanities medal for spreading humanistic ideas worldwide and the Global Empowerment Award for her work in Africa. Tessy holds an MSc in International Studies and Diplomacy. Currently, Tessy lives in London with her two sons but is often travelling for her various work projects.

Dr. Varintra Sirisuthikul

Dr. Varintra Sirisuthikul is currently Assistant Dean of Corporate Communication and Deputy Director of MBA Program at the Faculty of Business Administration for Society, Srinakharinwirot University. She was awarded her Doctorate Degree in Marketing and Tourism Management from Monash University in Australia. She received her BBA and MS in Marketing at University of Colorado, USA. Her research focuses on Branding and Tourism Marketing with her interest in Nonprofits and Social Entrepreneurship. She is the author of Responsible Marketing Case Study, ‘McDonald’s: The Fast Food Giant-Can We Say ‘No’ ?’ featuring in Professor Philip Kotler’s ”Principles of Marketing Textbook, 4th Edition”, Published by Pearson Education Australia in 2000.

Dr. Sipim Sornbanlang

Panel 1: How to Achieve Gender Parity in Higher Education

Dr. Sipim Sornbanlang received her Ph.D. and M.P.S. in International Relations from Chulalongkorn University, while earlier obtaining a B.A. in English from Chiang Mai University. She has extensive experience working in the public and private sector, with companies and government agencies, and more recently has entered academia as a lecturer at Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok. Over the past couple of years Sipim has served as a guest lecturer and moderator at many workshops and seminars dealing with migration, security issues for migrant workers, human trafficking, and globalization and its effects on countries and people living in Thailand and other southeast Asian countries. Currently, Sipim is working to expand Prowibo’s presence in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia to bring quality educational experiences to students in rural areas.

Dr. Pijitra Tsukamoto

Pijitra Tsukamoto is from Thailand. She holds a BA in political science from Thammasat University. Bangkok, an MA in international political economy from the University of Leeds and an MSc in global media and communications from the London School of Economics. Pijitra is currently the Head of Journalism Department and Lecturer of Faculty of Mass Communication and sits on Facebook’s Digital Citizenship Steering Committee for APAC. She headed several digital orientated projects such as Public-Private Dialogue on Status, Trends, Opportunities and Threats of SocialNetwork and Thailand Internet Governance. She has extensive experience in research relating to media, technology and politics. Pijitra has worked as a consultant to the Thai government and regional institutions such as the  Asian Development Bank. In her leisure time, Pijitra enjoys travelling, foreign cultures, modern art, interior design, films and music.

Pannika Wanich

Pannika Wanich joined Future Forward Party as a Spokesperson and Director of Communications in late May 2018. Formed earlier this year, the Future Forward Party is promising to disrupt established political forces in a country dominated by a military junta since the 2014 coup. With a message of hope and building a bright future for Thailand, the party has gained significant support especially among students and young voters ahead of elections in 2019. Prior to her political career, Pannika worked as an International News Desk Editor and News Anchor for more than six years at Voice TV, a Thai television channel known for its liberal stance and political-centric analysis. She co-hosted various political commentary and news analysis shows including Tonight Thailand, Voice Insight, Divas’ Café and The Chat Room. Pannika also presented iASEAN, documentary series focusing on social and cultural perspectives of 10 ASEAN countries. Her other notable reports include Brexit Referendum 2016, US Presidential Election 2016 and Indonesian Presidential Election, 2014. Pannika earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in the field of International Relations from Chulalongkorn University in 2010. A year later, she obtained MSc in Global Politics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In her early career, she completed an internship with the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand

Rachel Warnick MSc

Panel 3. Beyond Teaching: Mentoring, Networking and Recruiting Women 

Rachel Warnick specialises in communications, business and academic skills, and English as an Additional Language.  She has worked with a variety of institutions and corporate clients in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. She obtained a BA with High Distinction in East Asian Studies from the University of Toronto and an MSc in International Management (China) at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).  She spent fifteen years in business, gaining valuable experience in the finance, energy and non-profit sectors, most notably with Goldman Sachs and the UNHCR, before returning to education. In addition, she has an extensive track record of volunteer work in the UK and Africa. Canadian by birth but a nomad by nature, Rachel has lived in eleven countries on four continents.  Her belief is that education must be exciting and relevant, and this principle is the bedrock of her curriculum design and facilitation style. At Professor Without Borders’ 2018 summer school in Lucknow, India [Rachel led a course entitled  ‘Raise Your Voice’, a highly-interactive programme aimed at developing impactful communication skills that students found invaluable throughout many aspects of their professional and personal lives.  The course was centred on skills that students found invaluable for their professional and personal lives. This year, she has created two new, bespoke courses which she will facilitate at Professors Without Borders’ short courses in Thailand and Uganda.

Dr. Li-ying Wu

Panel 3. Beyond Teaching: Mentoring, Networking and Recruiting Women

Dr. Li-ying Wu is Associate Professor at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She is currently the Head of the English Department at Wenzao and is responsible for the overseas internship project of the hotel industry in Southeast Asia and South Asia. Dr. Wu received her PhD degree in Linguistics from Lancaster
University, England. Her research interests include New Literacy Studies (NLS), Narrative Inquiry, Sociolinguistics, and Applied Linguistics. In addition, she is highly interested in issues to do with globalization and higher education as well as internationalization of higher education.

Rungchai Yensabai

Panel 2: Tools, Technologies and Techniques: How to Enhance Education  Experiences for Women

Rungchai Yensabai is a lecturer in International Relations at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, Srinakarinwirot University. She is currently a final year PhD student at the School of Politics and International Studies, University of Leeds, UK. Her PhD research studies identity politics and foreign Otherness in Cold War Thailand by employing narrative inquiry approach. Rungchai received her B.A. in Political Science majoring in International Relations from Chulalongkorn University and MSc in International Affairs from Peking University and the London School of Economics. Her academic interests include Cold War history in Asia, narrative analysis, gender and class in International Relations, and art movements in Thai politics.
